The Pearse Square Traders Association in Ballyphehane erected a plaque in Pearse Square, to commemorate Padraig Pearse and all who died for Ireland during the 1916 Easter Rising.
The plaque was unveiled by the First Citizen of Cork, the Lord Mayor Councillor Chris O’Leary, on Good Friday, 25th March 2016 at 1:30pm. There was a great turn-out in the square, and Ballyphehane and District Pipe Band played at the event.
