‘Ireland Rising’ is a musical play written and directed by Maurice Dineen and Sharon Manning, that uses drama, music and dance to tell the story of the 1916 Rising. It featured 30 dancers from the Joan Denise Moriarty School of Dance, and ballet dancers Keith Hackett and Emma Gibbons.
There were musical performances by the Polyphonics and the St. Aloysius school choirs, by soloist Joanne Murphy and numerous songs performed by Ballyphehane Club Ceoil.
There were also re-enactments by the 1916 re-enactment group.
