Our Commemorations Programme in 2016 was hugely successful and got great support from the Ballyphehane and neighbouring communities. We wanted to build on this momentum and provide an enjoyable way for people to learn more about their local heritage, including, for example, some of the inspiring people our streets are named after.
We found Heritageworks, a small West Cork company who specialise in community heritage development, and we provided them with all the pictures, videos and posts we had collected on our Facebook page. We did put out a call to local organisations to forward info and pictures for inclusion, but didn’t get a big response so, if you feel you would like your club, service or association included on the Heritage Pod, or if you have some local history to add, please contact on of the committee members from the list above.
